Graduate Programs of Study
|
The IUP Geography and Regional Planning Department offers two degree programs - the Master of Science (M.S.) and Master of Arts (M.A.) in geography. Master of Arts students pursue themes of study and research such as population, urban, economic, cultural, or historical geography. The Master of Science program includes a fifteen-credit track in GIS/Cartography, Regional Planning, or Environmental Planning. Both the M.S. and M.A. programs require a nine-credit core and include options for electives and internships. Also, both programs can be completed as either thesis or non-thesis options, with preparation of a non-graded portfolio included in the non-thesis option.
Graduates are employed by state and federal government, city, county, and regional planning commissions, private consulting and engineering firms, business and industry and educational institutions.
