More About the German Program

 ""

The German Programs at IUP include the B.A. in German, German for International Trade, and German Education. The three tracks have as their common thread the development of proficiency in the German language and a knowledge of German culture, literature, and linguistics.  In accordance with IUP's mission of providing students an international study experience, students of German are encouraged to participate in the overseas program with Duisburg University, in the state of Nordrhein-Westfalen. There they have an opportunity to enhance communication skills, while gaining exposure to daily life on a German university campus. The populous city of Duisburg and nearby cities of the Rhine Valley offer an array of cultural experiences including theater, opera, and concerts.
