Temporary Mass Care
If a Level 2 emergency is declared, all or
part of the campus may need to be evacuated. In some situations it may be
necessary and/or the university may be ordered to move residents to
sheltered areas (for example, an approaching severe storm or fire in a
residence hall).
If one or more buildings must be evacuated, temporary shelter can be
obtained at the following on-campus buildings:
- Folger catering area
- Hadley Union Building
- Memorial Field House
- Foster Dining Hall (upstairs)
- Eberly Auditorium
- Pratt Auditorium
- Zink Hall
Other campus or off-campus buildings may be designated as temporary
shelters, depending on the emergency.
• Remain calm.
• Listen for campus announcements as to which shelter to move to.
• Do not bring personal items (luggage, computers, etc.) to the shelter.
• Move from your building to the designated temporary shelter.
• Stay there until conditions change and you are told it is safe to return
to your building.
• The university will provide food, utilities, medical care and basic
communication while you are at the temporary shelter.
Punxsutawney Regional Campus may need to use one of the local high schools
as a temporary shelter. Listen for campus announcements as to which shelter
to move to.
