Application and Registration Information

 

Undergraduate Student:

  • If you are not currently enrolled at IUP, you must complete the application form, print, sign and send the form with the $35 application fee. There is a one time $35 nonrefundable application fee (make check payable to Indiana University of Pennsylvania) the first time you register for a Distance Education course.

Graduate Student:

  • If you are a current IUP student, you must register for distance education courses through the University Records and Scheduling Assistant (URSA).
     
  • Graduate Distance Education Application Information - If you are not currently enrolled at IUP, you must complete the graduate application form, print, sign and return it to the address listed on the top of the form.  Once your application is processed you will be provided with your registration information and instructions.

    Please note the application is for admission as a non-degree student.  Your financial aid eligibility may be impacted by this fact.  Contact IUP's Financial Aid office www.iup.edu/financialaid at 724-357-2218 for details.

    If you have previously completed IUP graduate courses or you wish to apply to a degree or certificate program, please click here for our online application or visit our website at www.iup.edu/graduate for additional graduate school information.  If you have any questions about The Graduate School at IUP, please do not hesitate contacting our office via email at graduate-admissions@iup.edu or by calling 724-357-2222.

Course Information:

  • Courses which require department or instructor permission.  The following courses have pre-requisite restrictions - please follow instructions for obtaining enrollment permission before sending in your application.
  • If you wish to enroll in any of the following business courses, please send a copy of your transcript (can be unofficial) along with this application.  The Eberly College of Business must approve your admission to these courses:  ACCT 202, BTST 321, FIN 310, FIN 320, FIN 324, IFMG 300, MGMT 300, MGMT 330, MGMT 454, MGMT 495, MKTG 320, MKTG 321, MKTG 421, MKTG 430, MKTG 442, MKTG, and QBUS 215.

  • If you wish to enroll in PSYC 101, PSYC 320, PSYC 321 or PSYC 371, contact the Psychology Department (724-357-2426) or the department chairperson (mlzanich@iup.edu).

  • If you wish to enroll in GEOS 101, please email the instructor kcercone@iup.edu before applying.

  • If you wish to enroll in PLSC 359 or PLSC 559, please email the instructor torges@iup.edu for permission.

  • If you wish to enroll in EDEX 418 or EDEX 518, please see course description and email instructor jwdomara@iup.edu for permission.

  • Check the IUP Online Transfer Credit Website to see if you have the necessary prerequisites for a course.  

  • If you wish to enroll in CRIM 225, CRIM 344, CRIM 384, or CRIM 400 contact the Criminology Department (724-357-2720) or Erika Frenzel 724-357-2720 or dvmm@iup.edu for permission.

  • If you wish to enroll in MATH 105 contact Department Chairperson (Gary Stoudt gsstoudt@iup.edu 724-357-2608) for permission.
     

  • If you are currently enrolled in another Pennsylvania State System University and want your grade to transfer to your school, ask your Registrar's Office for a State System Visiting Student form.
     

  • If you are currently enrolled at any university and want your course credits to transfer to your school, ask your Registrar's Office for transfer credit pre-approval.
     

  • Once enrolled, if you decide to WITHDRAW from the course, you must contact the School of Continuing Education via e-mail at ce-info@iup.edu or telephone 1-800-640-7421 BEFORE the two-thirds point of the semester or session.  Failure to notify IUP will result in continued billing, the complete loss of tuition and fees paid, and a "F" grade.  See the IUP Registrar's website (course withdrawal policy) for information on course withdrawal and the IUP Bursar's website for information on tuition and fee refunds.
