Malika Kapadia, M.A. Practicum Student
Biography:
Malika is a
3rd year clinical psychology doctoral student at IUP. She earned her
bachelor's at Barnard College, Columbia University in NYC, where she majored in
psychology and minored in religion. She worked at the Barnard Toddler Center as
an undergrad, which sparked her interest in developmental psychology. She also
took a year off between undergrad and grad school and worked with emotionally
disturbed children and chemically dependent adolescents. During her year off,
she became interested in working with adolescents and emerging adults. Her
research and clinical interests are centered around immigrant populations. More
specifically, she would like to work with first and second generation South
Asian immigrants and their families both for her dissertation and after she
receives her doctorate.
