About the Coach: Cheerleading is no picnic, it is a lot of hard work, it takes a lot of dedication. You have to work twice as hard and be three times stronger both mentally and physically to be considered half of an athlete. We are more than a spectacle on the sidelines. We are an attention getting, athletic supporting, national championship winning group of women. We are a force to be reckoned with. We love athletics, we love competition, we love our fans and we love cheering. Watch us and catch some Crimson Hawk Pride. Coach Lia is originally from Scottdale, PA. She attended Marietta College (OH) where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. She then attended IUP for her Master’s Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education. After graduation she accepted a job with the Arts and Entertainment office at IUP. This is her second year coaching the IUP cheerleading squad. Her goals this year include getting the squad more involved in sports other than basketball and football, getting the squad more involved in the community and of course, winning a National Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida at NCA Nationals which is featured on FOX Sports Net. Check out our support page to see how you can help the squad travel to Daytona Beach by participating in one of our many fundraisers.
