Citizenship and Civic Engagement Initiative

The Citizenship and Civic Engagement website is about to make a move to the new IUP template and web server. Therefore, we're concentrating on our new site rather than updating this one. Look for the new CCEI site in January.

We appreciate your patience during our transition.

In the meantime, please send questions and suggestions to Dr. Caleb Finegan.

Be Active, Be Involved, CCEI

Lightbulb - a sign of a bright idea
Looking for ways to become active and involved? How about these ideas?

Be Active, Be Involved!
  1. Understand your rights!  Visit the Federal Trade Commission http://www.ftc.gov/privacy/index.html  or the Consumer Privacy Guide http://www.consumerprivacyguide.org/law/  to find legal initiatives designed to protect your personal privacy.

  2. Visit http://old.www.iup.edu/tsc/policies/  to discover what IUP does to protect your confidential information. Take steps to secure any personal information that is not adequately protected.

  3. Organize a privacy information session in your dorm, office, or for your organization.  Invite IT faculty or professionals to lead the workshop.

  4. Want to do more?  Contact Congress to raise your concerns about issues related to privacy and security.  Visit http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/  to retrieve contact information for your congressional representatives.
