Mock
Interviews
The
Office of Career Services has arranged to provide
scheduled times during which students can practice
employment interviews. The purpose of these
practice sessions is to give you an appreciation of what
to expect in a typical interview and an opportunity to
refine your skills. The interview will be
videotaped and replayed for you to view with your
interviewer, providing an opportunity to gain both
visual and auditory feedback. See also interviews
for interviewing tips.
Prior
To Your Interview
- You
must come into the Office to schedule your
interview. We do not set up mock interview
appointments via the telephone. Select an
interview time that is convenient for you and then
complete all the necessary information on the
schedule. Please, write down the date and time of
your interview for your own records!
- You
must pay a mock interview fee when you make an
appointment; however, if you need a mock interview
to fulfill a class requirement, you must purchase a
mock interview packet in our office.
Packet sales for BTST 321 will end on Monday, November
26th, 2007! (scheduling is first come, first serve)
- Leave
a copy of your resume and cover letter at the front
desk at least two business days (48 hours) prior to your interview.
Points will be deducted from your grade and your
interview may be shortened or even cancelled if we
must take time to review your resume because it was
turned in late.
- Be
prompt on the day of your interview and dress
appropriately.
- Feel
free to bring your own videotape (VHS-C tape) if you wish to keep
a copy of your interview, because we do not save any
mock interviews.
- We
recommend that you view the “STAR” video prior
to your mock interview. This video is
available at the front desk in the Career Services
Office.
- If
you have any questions, call Career Services at
357-2235.
Because of the extensive demand
for the mock interview program, we are unable to
reschedule any interviews. Therefore, it is your
responsibility to me mindful of your class, work, and
personal schedules when signing up for your interview.
If you do not show up, your name will be placed on the
"No Show" list and you will not pass the assignment!
