Welcome To The Career Development Center

Welcome to the IUP Career Development Center Parent's page.  In an effort to support IUP parents and families, we’ve developed this web site to enhance communication between you and the Career Development Center, and to enrich the college experience of both you and your student.  We know that, as a parent, you have a vested interest in the outcome of your student’s education, so we encourage your participation in the career development process.

The starting point, no matter where your student is on the path to their degree, is our Career Game Plan.  This site provides suggestions for coaching your son or daughter to a successful career.  There are links to other campus offices that can assist students in developing the skills and experiences that will make them more marketable to employers and graduate schools. We are also providing you with some resources that may help you help your college-aged student.

We also invite you to become part of our network to help IUP students succeed.  If your employer is seeking to fill internship or full-time positions, please refer the human resources person to our employer pages at www.iup.edu/career/employers, where they will be able to post a position for free, or search a candidate database for resumes.  You are also invited to join our IUP Mentoring Network, an on-line community of alumni, parents, and employers who are willing to network with current students regarding career advice, employment opportunities in various career fields, or future relocation sites.
