Vision
Statement
The
Career Development Center at Indiana University of Pennsylvania will develop
the staff, resources, and services to create a comprehensive career planning
and placement center that uses the most current technology and information
to teach students the skills necessary to achieve their career objectives.
Mission
Statement
To
assist students and alumni in developing life-long career planning and job
search skills, and to provide employment and graduate school information,
resources, and services in a customer-oriented environment.
Position
Statement
The
Career Development Center is committed to providing services and
developmental opportunities that support the educational objectives of
Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The Office will maintain the
philosophy and goals of the Division of Student Affairs, while working in
tandem with the academic departments to offer students the best possible
services. Our goal is to teach students, by providing coaching and
support, how to become active participants in their own continuing career
development.
The
Office functions as a comprehensive career planning and placement service
within the university in order to meet the needs of IUP students and alumni.
The staff strives to:
- Help
students develop self-awareness
- Enable
students to clarify and evaluate their career and educational goals
- Provide
students with direction and information on the job market and
educational opportunities
- Help
students develop a methodology to reach their educational goals
- Assist
students in the career decision-making process.
