Biochemistry Program

Biochemistry is one of the fastest growing high-tech fields in the United States. Every aspect of health and science, many parts of the chemical industry, and the fields of homeland security, environmental testing, and genetic engineering all rely on biochemists.

IUP’s program is one of only a few in the country in which students can earn an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry.

A degree in Biochemistry from IUP helps to guarantee you the top-quality preparation you’ll need for an entry-level position in laboratories, in the government, in the pharmaceutical industry, and in many others fields and for admittance into graduate and professional schools. The program is composed of Biology and Chemistry faculty members. Biochemistry students work with state-of-the-art equipment in a high-quality program that has small class sizes.
