The largest tree in the Oak Grove is a White Oak that is 11 feet 4 inches in diameter, 41 inches wide and approximately 140 feet tall.

Based on a study in 1961, there were 149 trees in the Oak Grove.  Today there are 90. There were 32 species of trees in the Oak Grove.  Today there are 16 species.

There are numerous specimens of Eastern Hemlock (the Pennsylvania state tree) on campus.  There are no specimens of Mt. Laurel (the state flower) on campus.

The mixed Oak forest is the most common habitat in Pennsylvania.  It is also commonly known as the Oak/Hickory forest of Eastern North America.
