There are more than
100,000 people around the world who call IUP their alma
mater. You live and work in every one of the 50 states
and probably in every country of the world, from
Afghanistan to Zaire. You're up to some great
things too. Designing products. Teaching youngsters.
Making discoveries. Performing on stage. All of which we
want to know about, so we can honor and recognize your
achievements.
One way we do that is
through our annual Distinguished Alumni Awards
program. Another is through our Young Alumni
Ambassador Awards program.
Please let us know if
you have reached a milestone by sending a message to
alumni-relations@iup.edu
(be sure to include your full name, including maiden
name, your class year, and your address). Please
send a message to IUP
Magazine if you wish to have your news appear in
that publication (be sure to include your full name,
including maiden name, your class year, and your
address). If you want to change your address or
update your personal record, please logon to our Online
Community.
Distinguished
Alumni Awards
These awards recognize IUP
graduates who have achieved distinction through
sustained performance in their fields or have provided
outstanding service to IUP. It's not possible to honor
all of our outstanding alumni in a given year, but those
selected are representative of all alumni whose
professional achievements merit admiration and respect.
See a list of our past and present winners,
and read on to find out how you can nominate a special
alumnus or alumna. See photos of all winners since
1999 in
IUP Magazine Web Extra.

Young
Alumni Ambassador Awards
The purpose of
this award is two-fold: to recognize recent IUP
graduates identified as being outstanding in their
fields and to present such alumni to current IUP
students as examples of exceptional achievement. The IUP
Alumni Association works in conjunction with the deans
of IUP's six undergraduate colleges to identify and
select candidates for the award. See a list of our
past winners, and
read on to see how to nominate a special young alumnus
or alumna.
Who's eligible?
Recent
graduates of IUP who have recorded notable
accomplishments in their chosen professions. Each year,
one outstanding alumni from each undergraduate college
of IUP is chosen to receive the award.
How are alumni
chosen?
The deans of
the colleges along with the Awards Committee of the IUP
Alumni Association Board of Directors review all
nominations. Final selections are made by the deans. The
awards are presented annually at Homecoming. At that
time, Alumni Ambassadors are invited to hold seminars,
presentations and panel discussions on topics related to
their professions.
