Q. What will I study?

A. IUP students have more than a hundred majors from which to choose, but the learning does not end there. All students participate in our Liberal Studies program, which provides the well-rounded education employers and graduate schools seek. In addition, a wide range of classes provide experience in technology. Resources that will help you succeed academically are plentiful.

Q. What do IUP student experience when they come to campus? What's it like?

A. Check out our Student Resources page to get a glimpse of resources, activities, and more.

Q. Where will I live?

A. IUP has 13 residence halls and 2 apartment buildings. Within the residence halls there are a number of special-interest floors that offer community living for students of similar interests.

Q. What will I do for fun?

A. Situated in a country community in close proximity to ski resorts, state
parks, golf courses, and other recreational facilities, the university itself sponsors numerous activities and has a wide variety of athletic and entertainment options. It's doubtful that in the course of your college career you will be bored.

Q. Who will I meet?

A. People just like you. And, people who aren't anything like you. That's the beauty of IUP. Students come from right here in Indiana, Pa., from all over the U.S., and from seventy other countries. Our students are scholars, athletes, musicians, artists, actors, Army recruits, scientists, historians, community volunteers, and more. Some of them know exactly what they want to do, and some of them are still exploring their options. Variety: that's what the college experience should be all about.

Q. Where is IUP?

A.
Fewer than sixty miles (one hour) northeast of Pittsburgh, IUP is in the
heart of Western Pennsylvania's rolling countryside. By car, it's about a two-hour drive from Youngstown or Morgantown, a three-hour drive from Erie or Cleveland, a four-hour drive from Baltimore and Washington, D.C., a five-hour drive from Philadelphia or Scranton, and a six-hour drive from Binghamton or Richmond.
