Punxsutawney Area College Trust Scholarship
Scholarship awards of $3,000 will be given to five outstanding applicants who have an extraordinary commitment to succeed in the culinary field. Recipients will possess a high level of academic excellence, superb interpersonal communication skills, and an intense desire to advance professionally in the field of culinary arts. The Academy Honors Scholarship recognizes the well-rounded individual who is able to meet challenges head-on. Recipients are goal-oriented, career-minded, and focused on personal and professional success, beginning with their education at the Academy.

Scholarships are awarded based on the application form, information from the Academy application package (recommendation forms, essay), current high school transcript, SAT score, school/community involvement, and supporting documentation of educational, professional, or athletic memberships provided by the applicant. Dedication to the food service industry through employment, educational, or volunteer experiences should be demonstrated. Favorable consideration is given to applicants who want to pursue the combination culinary arts and bachelor of science degree in Hospitality Management or Food & Nutrition.

High Achievers Scholarship

Scholarship awards of $1000 will be awarded to individuals who have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement and potential as well as a commitment to the culinary industry. Scholarships will be given to students who have been able to blend academic dedication with career-minded employment and/or professional or school organization involvement.  Special consideration will be given to applicants who have chosen to devote their time and effort to community/civic groups, athletic memberships, or other educationally valuable experiences gained outside of the classroom.

Scholarships are awarded based on the application form, information from the Academy application package (recommendation forms, essay), current high school transcript, school/community involvement, and any additional supporting documentation provided by the applicant.

Note

Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis with recipients being identified at the time of application.  Students awarded a scholarship will be notified in their acceptance letters.  Submission of the $75.00 tuition deposit will guarantee the scholarship as well as hold the student’s seat in the admitted class.  Only one scholarship will be awarded to a student.  Should a student be eligible for more than one scholarship, the Academy will automatically award the scholarship with the highest dollar amount to the student.  These awards are offered for use only at the IUP Academy of Culinary Arts.  If the student does not attend the Academy, the scholarship award is cancelled.
