Board of Governors Scholarship (BOG)
Indiana University of Pennsylvania Board of Governors Scholarship (BOG)
The Pennsylvania Board of Governors Scholarship recognizes the academic achievement of
prospective students who apply and are admitted to IUP. The annual award ranges from
$1,000 to full in-state tuition. The BOG Scholarship program consists of:
- The Academic Program BOG Scholars receive an excellent foundation for academic success at IUP.
- The Mentorship Program Upper-class BOG scholars act as mentors for incoming BOG Freshmen.
- Service Learning BOG scholars develop skills, explore career paths, and volunteer their time.
For BOG Consideration, An Applicant Must:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be a permanent Pennsylvania resident.
- Complete an IUP Application for Undergraduate Admission.
- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Please Note: Each applicant's credentials will be reviewed on an individual basis, weekly,
starting November 1 and offers are extended on a rolling basis.
BOG Scholarship Qualifications
All freshmen are considered for the BOG Scholarships. The Scholarships are awarded based on high school
academic achievement.
- Strength of high school curriculum.
- GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Active participation in extra curricular activities.
- Essay or recommendation letter (optional).
Renewal
This scholarship is awarded annually, provided that:
- CQPA of 2.50 or higher at the conclusion of the freshman year.
- CQPA of 2.75 or higher at the conclusion of subsequent semesters.
- Full participation of all BOG activities.
Qualify as an Upperclassman
Upperclassmen who wish to apply for a BOG must:
- Have a CQPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Have applied for Financial Aid (FAFSA).
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be a permanent Pennsylvania resident
- Be a full-time undergraduate student at IUP.
