Custodial Services

The IUP Custodial Services Department plays a very important role in supporting the educational process at IUP. This department is responsible for maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation possible so that faculty, staff and students can safely work, learn, and live. This department is one of the largest departments at IUP with more that 150 staff members and maintains the largest facility in the State System of Higher Education and is comprised of 75 buildings. Sixteen of these buildings are residence halls where the custodial staff must maintain a safe, clean and sanitary environment for approximately 4,100 students. In addition, the custodial staff must maintain service and academic buildings which include a variety of classrooms, offices, laboratories, auditoriums, the President's Apartment, guest rooms, etc.
